A National Historic Landmark, the Lewis R. French was built in So. Bristol, Maine in 1871. Built to carry cargo all along the Maine coast, in and out of seaside towns and ports, the French has been refitted with both double and single cabins to carry 21 guests in comfort and style. Hearty, delicious food cooked on the woodstove fills our guests and crew, the sea-breeze invigorates, and the pure, quiet power of the sails moving the schooner through the water fills us all with wonder. Join us for an amazing sailing vacation on Penobscot Bay!
