A Windjammer Cruise in Maine Makes a Great Gift for Dads and Grads

Take advantage of special Father’s Day offers from Maine Windjammers

Rockland, ME – June celebrates Dads and Grads, and what better way to honor them than with a windjammer cruise along the Maine Coast? Take advantage of three fabulous offers from Maine windjammers for Dads to sail at a reduced rate on Father’s Day cruises. For college, Masters, or PhD grads, a Maine windjammer cruise is the ideal break from the real-world pressures that will soon come with that new job, and a great graduation gift. Many of the Maine Windjammers have availability for June cruises ranging from Father’s Day-themed trips to Music, Lighthouse, Photography and Summer Solstice trips.

Nothing will make Dad happier than time with his family, whether it be with an adult or teen son or daughter or grandchildren. Add in the gift of sail and the family memories are even better for the Dad that has everything he could want but time with those he loves. Aboard the Schooner Lewis R. French, Dad sails for half-price when accompanied by a full-price child 13 or over on a two-night cruise, boarding Friday, June 15 and returning on Father’s Day, June 17. You’ll return just in time to celebrate the big day with the whole family. Those looking for a longer cruise can board the Victory Chimes for a five day cruise on June 15 and return on June 20, 2018. When accompanied by a full-rate son or daughter, Dad sails for half price ($390) on this Victory Chimes trip. And aboard the Schooner Heritage Dads and Granddads get a 25-percent discount when accompanied by their son or daughter or grandkids 10 and up on the 3-day cruise, June 14-17 cruise. The historic American Eagle also has availability on their 3-day Father’s Day Long Weekend cruise, boarding on Friday, June 15 and returning on Monday, June 18. Why not make this a three-generation cruise with granddad, dad and grandchild? Now that’s a Father’s Day gift that would offer three-times the memories.

The Maine Windjammer Association kicks off the sailing season with its first event in June, the Schooner Gam on Monday, June 11,2018. This is an opportunity to raft up with other windjammers, tour the other boats and participate in a toast to the season with old fashioned grog followed by live music provided by the captains. Many of the Maine Windjammers, including the American Eagle, Heritage, Victory Chimes, Lewis R. French and Ladona still have availability for their 4-day Gam cruises, boarding on June 9 or 10 and returning on June 13 or 14th, depending on the boat.

Sister ships, Schooner Ladona and Schooner Stephen Taber both still have space on their 4-night June 19-23 Summer Solstice Music Cruise too. Celebrate the longest day of the year with the Nashville Ladies. The two schooners will raft up each evening and unwind with an informal, yet intimate concert provided by Nashville based recording artists, Jenn Schott and Melissa Peirce, and joined by the musically gifted captains of both ships.

Whether sailing on Windjammer Angelique, which still has space available on the Great Schooner Race Week, July 1 – 7th, or the Schooner Mary Day, offering a Lighthouse Cruise June 19-23, cruises on board these majestic windjammers make the ideal gift for Dads and Grads. What do you give the Dad who has everything? Time with family in a gorgeous natural setting away from all the worries of job and chores.
